LADY PILOTS TENNIS TEAM TAKES SIGNIFICANT STEPS IN PLAYOFF LOSS.

Re-Cap of 11/6/06 1^st-Round Invitational Playoff Match vs. North Hollywood

Yesterday, the 10^th-seeded Pilots took on the 7^th-seeded Huskies of North Hollywood & displayed the significant progress that the team has made in the last 3 years. In Banning’s 1^st matchup vs. North Hollywood in 2004, not only did the Pilots lose all 7 matches, but were shutout in every single match, outscored by the Huskies 56 games to zero. In yesterday’s match, the Lady Pilots won multiple games in every single match, & consistently challenged the Huskies, winning a total of 30 games. Adriana Garcia (#3 Singles), Jackie Humara (#4 Singles), as well as the tandem of Cinthya Monroy & Veronica Trujillo (#2 Doubles) all came within a few mere points of taking their first sets. As a whole, the team was very competitive & showed a lot of heart playing in the brutal heat of North Hollywood. This experience was a valuable step in building up the tennis program, as the team took extensive notes during their first playoff appearance in many, many years. The team now anxiously awaits the 2007 season as they prepare to build & improve upon the tremendous success of the last few years.
