“LADY PILOTS TENNIS TEAM DOMINATES GARDENA PANTHERS!”

Re-Cap of 10/05/06 Match vs. Gardena

Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for their dominating victory over Gardena on Thursday.  Not only did the Pilots take 6 of the 7 matches, but they outscored the Panthers 55 games to 21.  This also marks the first time in recent history that the Pilots sweep all 4 singles matches, in Marine League play.

Leading the way in those singles matches were #1 & #2 Margaret Young and Nancy Melgoza who both won 8-1.  Jackie Humara & Adriana Garcia, (who clinched the victory for the Pilots early on), won 8-2 and 8-3 respectively.

In doubles action, Jackie Gonzalez & Graziel Nafarette (#2 Doubles), as well as Norma Santamaria & Melissa Hernandez (#3 Doubles) also won convincingly at 8-3 each.  The lone loss of the day was #1 doubles who fought off multiple match points and forced a tie-break, before finally succumbing by two points in the tie-breaker at 9-7.
