LADY PILOTS TENNIS TEAM TAKES A TOUGH LOSS!

Re-Cap of 10/10/06 Match vs. San Pedro

Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis Team for an amazing effort against San Pedro on Tuesday.  With the contest all tied up at 3 matches each, the Lady Pilots held the win within their grasps at 7-2 in the final and deciding match, before falling short.

Special recognition goes out to singles players Nancy Melgoza (#2) & Jackie Humara (#4) who dominated their matches at 8-0 & 8-3 respectively.  However, the story of the game was #1 Doubles partners Cinthya Monroy & Veronica Trujillo. Fighting off a painful hamstring injury, a 7-5 deficit and at least 8 match points, Monroy joined together with Trujillo to produce a heroic effort to take the match in the tie-breaker.

Also, despite falling short in the end, “Nemo” Hernandez & Norma Santamaria (#3 Doubles) played with a tremendous amount of heart & their 7-2 lead is what even allowed the Pilots to have the opportunity to win the match.

Great Job Pilots!  We’re all proud of you & we know you’ll get ‘em next time! J
