                            Late Homework

1. If you are absent it is your responsibility to turn in homework in on time.

2. If you are absent assignments are to be turned in the first day of your return or they will be considered late. The only exceptions are for extended absence where the student missed the explanation of an essay or project. If an explanation is missed it is the student’s responsibility to find out how to do the assignment first from another student and second from the teacher. Text assignments must be turned in upon return, no exceptions.

3. Any late homework will be accepted at 50% the value. All assignments will face a final expiration date that will be announced in class. After expiration the assignment will not be accepted at all. Do it on time!

Grading Policy

Your final grade is determined by the percentage of points earned compared to the points possible. To determine your grade divide the number of points earned by the number of possible points to that date.

e.g. You have earned 170 points out of a possible 200. 170/200 = .85 = 85%

                                                                                                               (this is a “B”)

100-90 A    89-80 B    79-70 C    69-60 D    below 60=F

You will be able to keep track of this using the scorecard on page 4 or by checking the roll book printouts that are provided periodically.

Reading the Roll Book Printout

First column you will see your “secret code”, not your name in order to keep your information private. Next you will see “points”, this shows you the number of points you have earned over possible points. “Overall” displays the percentage of points earned and your current letter grade. Each assignment/test/activity is listed with a point value. If you see “0” in the column it means you have not done the assignment. If it is blank it means it is not due yet or you are not required to do that assignment or are being given extra time.
