Coach Chris Ferragamo Retirement Celebration And Dinner

The Coach Chris Ferragamo Retirement Celebration And Dinner is set for July 17, 2010. The location is: THE WILMINGTON CHRISTIAN SCHOOL BANQUET HALL, 24910 South Avalon (corner of Avalon and Lomita), Wilmington, California 90744. This is going to be big. And we're going to do it up right. We will have a parade down Avalon Boulevard, from PCH to Lomita Boulevard, that will start at about 12 Noon. We want the entire community to show up and line Avalon Boulevard for this parade. The Banning High School Band and Drill Team will be asked to lead the parade. Mr. Woodson will also be asked to come out of retirement to lead the band in the parade. The ILWU will be asked to participate in this parade, which honors one of their own. The afternoon will feature carnival rides, hot dogs, hamburgers and sodas on the outdoor grounds of the WILMINGTON CHRISTIAN SCHOOL. The Dinner Tribute that same early evening will be catered by Domenick's, and will also take place at the WILMINGTON CHRISTIAN SCHOOL there at the corner of Avalon and Lomita. Dinner will start at 5:00 p.m. The price of the dinner tickets will be $20.00 per person (includes Coach's Gift). Check or money order only for dinner tickets.. We will make the dinner seating reservations from the checks. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on the evening of July 17 for cash. But these dinner tickets are going to sell out quickly. The tickets will probably only be available until June 30, 2010, since Domenick's will need a final head count with sufficient time to prepare. And we will only be allowed so many people in the Banquet Hall. Professional photographers will be in attendance. Coach Ferragamo will be asked to pose with each team that he coached from 1970 to 2010. Each team is responsible for getting tits players notified in plenty of time and at the ready for its team picture. So let's get moving NOW. No excuses. Especially with Facebook, Twitter, the Banning High School Website Alumni Directory and other Internet vehicles. For those who cannot attend but who want to wish Coach well in retirement, we will make it possible for them to mail in or text in a $10.00 Coach's Gift . We will have a text phone set up so that people can text in a gift of $10.00 if they would like to. We will have a silent auction. More exciting details on this later. We will also have a Dance Contest that same night in the same Wilmington Shristian School Banquet Hall, right after the Dinner. Anyone who pays the contest entry fee can compete. The winning couple will receive a $500.00 prize. There is a $25.00 entry fee (check or money order in advance; cash at the door) per couple to compete in the Dance Contest. Others in attendance can dance the night away for free if there is any room left on the dance floor, but contestants have priority on dance floor space. And only those who have paid to enter the contest are eligible to win the prize. Anyone thinking of entering this Dance Contest should sign up early to try to get a place on the dance floor. We'll have a DJ spinning all of the great dance tunes. Jamelle Holieway, Vince Ferragamo, Danny Reece, Mike Ponce, Nick Garibay and numerous other Banning stars have already committed to attend. We have contacted Freeman McNeil and are awaiting his response. Banning coaches Rocky and Gary Garibay have committed to attend, and we will be contacting all of the other coaches. We will also be inviting Carson High School coaches and football stars who played against Ferragamo's teams as well. We're looking for players like Rick Baska, Wesley Walker, Mike Wilson and Bo Napoleon, just to name a few. All are welcome. We would like to have Gene Vollnogle and all other coaches there as well. So let's get the word out and make this a memorable event. THANK YOU. In addition the Pharoahs Car Club will participate in the parade and will display their cars afterward.
