  1. Open up the file you created in class. Play with it. Highlight boxes and click on menus and change things. See what happens. Try every button. Learn something that your teacher doesn’t know.

 

 

2. Now create your own spreadsheet. Pick something you are interested in.

 

Ideas : Keeping track of a music collection

           (List of every song by title, artist and running length)

           Planning a college budget

 

           A roster for a fantasy team or your little sister’s soccer team

           with statistics (like goals scored etc.)

 

            A Christmas shopping list

            (Name – gift – store – price etc.)

 

            A to do list (with 1 – 10 importance ratings)

 

            A checkbook

 

            See a teacher for more ideas.

 

Your spreadsheet must include

           

            At least 10 rows and 5 columns

            Lots of data

            At least one formula

            Beautification

            A real purpose

           

You will be judged by difficulty and style (print edition)

 

Turn in a print out to Mr. Mendoza (room 205) in person and email your file to joemendoza@aol.com. In the subject heading type “My Excel Project”. Make sure the email includes your name.
