King JR
I was walking home one day, when I saw a blue box it seemed old and reckless. I walked away from it until I got the curiosity to take a look at it. I woke up minutes later, and I noticed something strange about the people and the town I was in. I started walking trying to ask for directions to go back home, but no one would listen to me just glance at me. I heard from a distance Martin Luther King’s speech. I started thinking maybe I must’ve hit my head when I was going near the blue box. As I looked around I saw a lot of racial signs.
A day passed I slept in the blue box it was the weirdest box, it was bigger from the inside than outside but I wasn’t worried about that, I was more worried on how I was going to get home. Later during the day I saw a man come near me I couldn’t believe what I was staring at, it was King JR. I was afraid I didn’t know what was happening; the last I can remember was King JR had been shot years before I was even born. Then I realized this was the day Martin Luther King JR got assassinated.
I feared the worst for what was about to happen next. I then thought about the greatest idea ever, “Maybe if I safe Martin Luther King JR everything would be different”.  A man passed by me and told me if I ever change something from the past the future would change, maybe even for the worst. This man that dressed horribly and had a really bad ascent introduced himself as the Doctor. “I saw you where doing a project on the day Martin Luther King JR was killed, so I brought you to the day it all happened for you would see it all for yourself.” I questioned him for hours until he just walked away. “Its time,” he said.
As the day passed I worried more about King JR because I couldn’t do anything to safe him. The doctor took me to the place where Martin Luther King JR was assassinated. Minutes later I saw him with his really huge men. I ran to him and said, “If you don’t leave from this motel right now your going to get murdered.” It was 6:00pm and he wouldn’t leave he thought I was insane. As the clock turned to 6:01pm I didn’t have any other choice but to push him out of the way. We all heard the shot but it was too late I had killed Martin Luther King JR myself, I tried been a hero but I accidently pushed him of the second floor. “Oh no, not again!” said The Doctor.

Dr. Who Story by Cinthia Tejeda J by

It was last Saturday morning during a Students Run L.A practice that this unbelievable story I am about to tell occurred. I was doing a Park Run listening to some 2Pac, as I got closer to Scott Park I felt the urge to use the restroom. Right when I arrived at Scott Park I spotted a porter potty, I’m not a big fan of those but I was not going to take any chances, so I quickly went inside. Once I closed the door to the porter potty, or that is what I thought it was at first, and turned around I could not believe my eyes! This was no porter potty at all! I thought I was hallucinating! It was inside some sort of spaceship! My knees trembled and I couldn’t move. I turned to my left, I turned to my right, and I looked up, I simply had no explanation. Right at that moment I hear “hello there mate can you be so kind and hand me that screw driver.” Taken by surprise I jumped left, looked down, and there was this man in a coat kneeling by some sort of machine.

I asked him, “What is this? What is happening, am I dreaming?”

“No you are not dreaming, you have entered my Tardis, it’s pretty neat ain’t it!”

            “I have entered your what?”

“My Tardis, it’s my form of transportation to travel in time.”

I thought to myself this has got to be a dream, I probably tripped at the park and hit my head, but it wasn’t it was all to real and difficult to believe all at once.

            I demanded, “who are you!?”

            “I am the Doctor.”

            “The doctor? Doctor Who?”

            “Just the Doctor.”

Then he gave me a smile too big to encourage anymore questions about his name.

I glanced around the so called “Tardis” burning with curiosity to observe it all but I thought to myself, “I better not.” Then the Doctor again.. “So mate can you now pass me the screwdriver, I must fix this lever in order to continue traveling.”

I handed him his screwdriver and within a few minutes he was finished fixing the lever.

I thought about running back out.. Back to reality, but something told me I’d regret it if I did so. The doctor was welcoming in a strange manner. He observed me observing his ‘Tardis’ then he said, “I know, it’s pretty incredible.”

“Mate tell me something, if you could go anywhere back in time where would you go? Just say the time and place and I will have you there with the pull of this lever.”

I wanted to go back to the most important moment in our history; the time that shaped our nation into what it is today, to the CIVIL WAR!

I said, “Take me to Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation.”

I had no intentions of changing anything I just wanted the honor and privilege to experience with my own eyes those historical events.

With a pull of a lever I was there!

The doctor very comfortably walked outside the Tardis, but I was a bit afraid of what might be out there.

“Come on out, you are going to enjoy this, as for me, well this is my second time here this week, I came by to visit a cousin.”

I couldn’t believe what he was telling me! How was it that this ‘Doctor’ could travel in time?

I stepped out and a couple hundred feet away there he was, President Abraham Lincoln, speaking with his unmistakable poise, with confidence over powering the air. I listened to his speech in awe surrounded by all the other individuals. There was another person in my head also, Union commander, Ulysses S. Grant, I was eager to meet him.

I said, “Doctor is there any way we can go and meet Ulysses S. Grant?”

“Well of course mate, you’ll just have to disguise yourself as Sarah E. Thompson, the wife of a recruiter for the Union Army who was killed, but she still continued to work for the union, very intelligent woman indeed. You think you can do that?”

“Yes I certainly can.” I replied with confidence.

In just a short amount of time I was in disguise and on my way to meet with General Grant.

I had important information about a Confederate General whom General Grant had a good chance of capturing.

I was in Galena, Illinois, in front of General Grants home, I took a deep breath and walked right up to the steps with my ‘apprentice’.

He himself opened the door and welcomed me, apparently knowing who I was already, and it was not difficult to pretend I knew him also, for I spent days reading about him and his battles back at my school. I introduced the Doctor as my young apprentice, Skip.

Skip presented General Grant with the confidential documents, he read through them, looked up and said, “Splendid, we shall act upon this right away, there is no time to waste.”

He sent for his men and quickly prepared, Confederate General John Hunt Morgan and his men had spent the night nearby thinking nobody was aware of their presence, but I was and with eagerness I explained to General Grant the best technique to capture them all and be that much closer to completely abolish slavery!! That was the purpose of my trip back in time with the Doctor and even though it did not last very long it was unforgettable for I was able to experience something I never thought possible. General Grants surprise attack was a success and I was congratulated by many for having led him to that victory. The next evening the doctor and I prepared to leave since my work there was done, I told them I had a sister up north who needed me to care for her, they understood. And with that Doctor and I got back into the Tardis and went back to my time. Good thing he went a little ahead and dropped me off at Banning. He saved me mile or so and since I had shin splints it was a great advantage. Not many words were said between us, he just knew how thankful I was for letting me travel with him. I said my good bye to this strange man who just a while ago was a complete stranger and now he was ‘Doctor Who’ as simple as that. I turned around put my earphones on, continued playing my 2pac song and jogged my way to coach Mendoza.

            The End…
