Re-Cap of 10/27/08 Girls Tennis Match: Banning vs. Washington
Congratulations to the Lady Pilots Tennis
Team for producing their sixth 7-0 shutout of the season, once again over Washington on Monday. The Pilots outscored the Generals
56 games to only 1 again, matching the feat performed earlier this month. As the team celebrated Senior
Day, the teams’ Seniors certainly shined & all won their matches.
In Singles, Jasmin Jimenez & Victoria Martinez
both won 8-0, while Anais Noreiga also posted an 8-0 shutout for her first singles win this season. Veronica
Trujillo also played very well, just barely missing out on the shutout, during an 8-1 win.
In doubles, all three duos, Cristina
Alvarado & Diana Alvarado, Norma Santamaria & Sandra Medina, as well as Kathy Ngo & Jazmine Martinez, once again
dominated their opponents with three awesome 8-0 shutouts.
In JV/Exhibition action, Melissa Garibay & Rebeca also posted a 6-0 shutout versus varsity
opponents. Dalilia Cornejo & Jessica Cortez, Lizbeth Medina & Angel Noriega, as well as Wendy Arreola & Helly
Duran also defeated varsity competition, showing just how deep the team is.
