Congratulations to the Boys Tennis Team for a great effort in
a battle of 1st-Place teams vs. Gardena on Friday. After winning the early season matchup, however, this time the Pilots fell to
a strong Panthers squad that returned 9 of 10 starters from 2014. In
singles, Jorge Zavala recovered from a 2nd-set meltdown in which he
led 5-1 before losing in the tie-break, yet re-focused in time to outlast his opponents who retired from the match due to
injury. Julian Frausto took the opening set in his match, while
Brayan Camacho came close to extending the 2nd set in his. In doubles, the Pilots struggled to get on track, yet Salvador Lara & Omar
Renteria showed much improvement in the 2nd set. In JV/Exhibition action, Daniel Gudino & Gerardo Lopez continued their winning
ways, while Isidro Aguilar was a 2-time winner on the day with Thomas Leos & Hugo DeLaCruz as his partners. Great job Pilots & good luck vs. Carson on Monday!
