Congratulations to the Boys Tennis Team for the incredible amount of heart & determination they displayed
in a well-fought battle vs. the Gauchos. In singles, Walter Camacho came through in a big way after dropping the 1st set,
and being only 4 points away from defeat in the 2nd set tie-break. Camacho however, would win 3 of the next 4 points
to force a 3rd set, dominating his opponent 6-1. Manuel Leon & Josh Guray also fought valiantly, while Julian Frausto
actually reached match point in the 3rd set tie-break before finally falling. In doubles, Chris Leon & Cristian
Talavera overcame a 2nd set hiccup after dominating the 1st, & closed it out for the win. Kevin Lam & Juan Mijares
were extremely clutch as they, like Camacho, looked defeat in the eye during the 2nd set tie-break. Lam & Mijares, however,
would also pull it out to force a deciding 3rd set which was just as tight as the 2nd set, but finally prevailed to set up
the final dramatics. In the last match on court, Isai Chun & JoeAnthony Rodriguez dropped a close 1st set, but also
won a close 2nd set to force the deciding 3rd set. In that 3rd set, they battled their opponents & their own nerves, knowing
that the team's fate was on their rackets, yet fell on a deuce-point at 4-5 which saw Narbonne produce a miracle shot that
somehow landed in & sealed the deal for a very disappointed Pilots' squad. In JV/Exhibition action the Pilots took
both matches, with Salvador Lara & Michael Gonzalez demoralizing their opponents who decided to retire their match.
Great Job Pilots & Good Luck vs. San Pedro on Friday!
