A huge congratulations goes out to the Lady Pilots
Tennis Team for making history in yesterday's upset win vs. Marine League powerhouse, Carson. With incredible victories from
Jocelyn Cuevas, Natalie Martinez & Sabrina Serrano in singles, as well as a dominating win by Liesel Montañez &
Renae Reyes in doubles, the Pilots SHOCKED the Colts who, prior to Wednesday, boasted a league record of 140 wins and only
2 losses over the past 14 years. The win also ended a winless streak versus Carson that spanned at least 14 years, and
at least 27 matches. What made the win even more impressive was the fact that when the two teams faced off earlier in
the season, the Colts were without their top two players, yet still handled the Pilots. In Wednesday's match, those two top
players returned, significantly strengthening the Colts' lineup, yet the Lady Pilots still prevailed. In JV/Exhibition
action, Caroline Ortiz & Alondra Gudino, Andrea Cardenas & Vianca Sebastian, as well as Elizabeth Cano & Alina
Parra all won, continuing the theme of the day. AWESOME job Pilots & Good Luck on Thursday, in the season finale
at Gardena!
